ASUS W3V Notebook parts

Since this asus notebook has been unreliable and displayed many unfavorable idiosyncrasies since it was purchased new 23 months ago for $2700 and now that it has failed completely I will not be wasting another cent on it. My new BenQ S61 Joybook is faster, lighter and was $1,000 cheaper. It also runs much much cooler!

If you are another unfortunate owner of an Asus W3V and require spare parts please feel free to contact me. I have a few I can supply.

The screen is still ok, battery, CD/DVD removable drive, keyboard, 2 x 512 sticks of RAM, Casing is good, wireless card is ok and the CPU and cooling fan should be still ok about the only thing that is not worth anything is the mainboard.

True I made the mistake of cleaning out the partially blocked heatsink fins with ArmorAll and compressed air after the notebook completely failed the Asus service centre in Silverwater are claiming they wont replace the mainboard due to liquid being spilt on the main board. There has never been any liquid spilt on the mainboard, period.

This asus notebook has always run very very hot which I believe caused the Mainboard to finally fail.

I cannot warrant wasting any money on a notebook that has been on the main part extremely unreliable since new. Asus know they are using a technicality to avoid repairing this notebook under warranty and that is their prerogative.

I will be exercising my right to tell everyone I possibly can that Asus notebooks are unreliable and poor value for money especially considering the high price they are asking. This is not the only Asus product I have had fail and personally I will not purchase another asus product based on my experience to date with asus products, service support and warranty attitude to date.
