Lily, not as daylily.  It's a Gymea Lily (Australian native).  Usually doesn't grow so tall.  Absolutely huge flower head on each spike.  The flower lasts for a couple of weeks, and each day native birds will come to drink the nectar from the bloom.

Below:  A seedling from a previous year is A Velvety, saturated red, green-throated, wide.  Edge will widen in hot weather.    WIRE IN THE BLOOD X WISH FULFILMENT.  Not for sale for a couple of years (will wait and see if I want to register it after one more year of observation; it's a slow increaser, unfortunately).  To be used as just another "breeding seedling", perhaps.
