Dog training:
In home dog training sessions are run by your experienced and professional trainer, Julie Harris. The fun and informative sessions are approximately one hour in duration. Individual programming is based on best current practise in positive reinforcement training and is a great way to start your dog or puppy on the road to becoming the best dog he/she can be.
Dogs will learn good manners and begin basic skills such as sit, look (give attetnion), down, come, stay and walking nicely on lead. Problem behaviours can be effectively modified and managed.
People will learn about leadership, how dogs learn, dog body language, socialising dogs, toilet training, settling/calming your dog, bite inhibition, handling your dog, appropriate toys, basic healthcare, feeding and environmental enrichment strategies, preventing and dealing with problems. Sessions are fun for both dogs and their people and conducted in the comfort and safety of your own home and yard. There is always time for questions and answers. Please call or email to make a booking!

Check & Groom:
Critter Sitters will make sure your pets are checked daily for ticks and injuries. They will be fed and watered according to your special instructions and given a good basic grooming. Even shorthaired cats should be brushed daily to remove hair that can be ingested and form hairballs.

Feed & Water:
Feeding is carried out according to your special instructions! Just make sure you leave plenty of your pet’s usual food for us. If your pets are allowed special treats make sure you leave them with us plus instructions on quantities etc so we can reward your little friends during play or walks. Critter Sitters will ensure that each animal has fresh water replaced each visit.

Medicate:
We can administer basic medications. In case of emergency Critter Sitters will take your pet to your regular vet. If we cannot get to your vet we have our own nominated Vet: Dr Graeme Cross at Gosford Veterinary Hospital, East Gosford. We will do our best to contact you beforehand.

Play & Walk:
Critter Sitters will very happily play with your cats and dogs each visit. We use your suggested favourite games or we can improvise with some of our enrichment activities. Dogs can be walked in your local area.

Cuddle:
It is well known that animals respond to kindness and physical touch. Critter sitters love to give your pets a loving cuddle and pat during feeding or play time.

Small Pets & Fish: (Small animal boarding available)
It is often very hard to get a minder for your small mammals, fish or reptiles and Critter Sitters are happy to care for all of these in your home, or boarding with us, as long as they are easily portable and appropriately housed. Many “little critters” such as rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and mice, have all been happy clients of ours as well as various reptiles and amphibians too! Just introduce us nicely, leave us all your special instructions and trust us to care for your little companions.

Garden & Plants:
Your pot plants and garden will love having some attention too, whilst you are away. No more returning to brown gardens or pots full of dry, wilted plants.

Home, Mail, Newspapers & Bins:
Finally, Critter Sitters add a human presence to your seemingly empty home. A dog at home also gives the impression that you have not gone anywhere and can still act as watchdog in case of would be intruders. Critter Sitters can move blinds and curtains, bring in the mail and newspapers and organise your bins. We can also do a quick security check round the place to make sure no break-ins have occurred.
