After a Weekend in Melbourne and another in Sydney dedicated to leisure activities Bel Paese style, the Weekend Italiano returned with a fun, brand new series of workshops inspired by the Piazza, the place where Italian people meet, gather and mingle par excellence.
This Weekend was to learn and taste the special place that the Piazza holds in Italian life. Ranging from l’aperitivo to la passeggiata, from il mercato to le feste, the workshops gave an experience of the Piazza in 360 degrees.
Each day, three different workshops catered to beginner, intermediate and advanced speakers, with vocabulary, activities and grammatical structures adapted to the three levels.
Gourmet lunches – prepared by selected chefs – provided a further insight into Italian culture, history and traditions.
Weekend Italiano in Piazza took place in Sydney on the 1st and 2nd November 2008 at Co.As.It, 67 Norton Street, Leichhardt.
Weekend Italiano in Piazza was part of the official calendar of events for the 2008 Settimana della lingua italiana nel mondo.
