Welcome to the Dubbo RSL Chess Club website. To play chess online with other members click on the 'playchess' link pictured to the right and download the free program. Then go to Clubs, Australia, Dubbo. You can play as a guest if you don't want to join up.
Our Club caters for beginners to enthusiasts and meets at the coffee lounge in the Dubbo RSL on Tuesday nights from 7:30pm, for friendly games in a relaxed atmosphere. We now cater for junior players who meet at 7:00pm. All juniors are welcome for friendly games and some informal coaching.

The 2014 Dubbo RSL Open was won this year by local player Don Keast who came equal first with Alana Chibnall. The event attracted twenty-seven players. Full results can be found on the "Past Events" link below.
The 2014 Dubbo RSL Open will be held over the weekend of 5th and 6th April. There will be a handicap blitz tournament run on the Saturday night. The facebook page is Dubbo RSL Facebook Page
The 2013 Dubbo RSL Open was won by Jeffrey Plew who is now also the NSW Country Champion. David Lovejoy was runner up. We had a great turnout of forty-six players and Shaun Press did a competent job as arbiter. The final standings and crosstable can be found in the 'Past Events' section.
The 2013 Dubbo RSL Open will be held over the weekend of 16th and 17th March and will also incorporate the NSW Country Championship. There will be a handicap blitz tournament run on the Saturday night. We have a facebook page now too. See Dubbo RSL Facebook Page
We were fortunate to have IM George Xie play in our 2012 Dubbo RSL Open. He won this event with a perfect score of six wins from six games and coming ahead of Michael Wei and Fritz Van Der Wal both on five points. Numbers were down on previous years but we still had twenty nine competitors making it a succesful and enjoyable tournament. Shaun Press did a great job as DOP again. The handicap blitz tournament was convincingly won by Don Keast despite only having one minute on the clock to play all his moves in some games.
The 2012 Dubbo RSL Open will be held over the weekend of the 17th and 18th March. IM George Xie is a confirmed entry. This should be a great warm up tournament for the up coming Doeberl Cup and Sydney International.
The 2011 Dubbo RSL Open was run over the weekend of the 9th and 10th April and had 48 entrants which is an equal record to last year. The event was won by canberra player Wenlin Yin, with local player Trevor Bemrose coming second. Shaun Press did a great job as DOP.
After a year of planning and dedicated effort, mostly by Alexander Aich, we had our most succesful tournament ever, our tenth anniversary Dubbo RSL Open. This was a level three grand prix event with forty eight entries and attracted some of Australias best players.
