Introduction

This site documents the construction of a full cockpit flight simulator based on the Beechcraft Baron 58. My cockpit is a two-seater so that others can fly with me. I intend to build as much of the sim as I possibly can from scratch. This includes the instruments, controls and shell. Since I document things as I build them, you will see my successes and my failures.

Software

My software is FSX and SimconnectDelphi ,  Borland Delphi 7, and Microchip's PICC18  compiler.

Purpose

The purpose of this site is to document my efforts and share my ideas and experiences with other cockpit builders Hopefully it will interest others in building Baron or other types of GA simulators.

Acknowledgement

I'd like to thank all those flight sim builders who've emailed comments, questions and suggestions. It's contact with you that makes this hobby truly satisfying.

What's New 18 November 2008

  • Ahhh, back on the machines again! I've started to make some jigs to make the parts of the HSI. This is the jig for the gear mounting plates.

  • It was a dark and stormy night... I couldn't resist trying to get a picture of this dramatic lighting the other night. This is from my front verandah.
