Skycam South West over Nimbin NSW

F5 or cmd-R to refresh

Thanks to the Nimbin GoodTimes people for essential support

This vga IP cam looks westsouthwest over the Nimbin Rocks from about 300m ASL and should update to Exetel once every 150 seconds; the page refreshes every 2min30; same duration but not necessarily the same time. The camera is a D-Link DCS-910 and runs on power over ethernet; 2.5 watts at 5v on the lens end. But it's not weatherproof, high hi-res or panoramic, just a bit wide-angle; nor are there any other weather observations here; try http://www.weatherzone.com.au/nsw/northern-rivers/lismore-dc/ for these or, for a wider view north from McLeans Ridges Lismore and more often below cloudbase, see http://www.australiasevereweather.com/video/webcam.htm.
For a Big Adjustable Picture try Weather Underground Home (in the US) or, unpredictably with _my home cookies/settings, WeatherUnderground ...

The lilac colour that comes through thinner clouds sometimes may be the D-Link CCD displaying ultraviolet as visible violet. If so, it shows just how to get sunburnt on a cloudy day. Sunsets in summer may burn out the CCD someday, or slowly warp the colours? Nights are fully dark; new Moon or Venus may appear, but I've yet to see the lights of Nimbin, maybe a headlight sometimes. At present, there're no uploads after 9:00pm, or before 5:00am or editorial dawn; unplugging helps protect the hardware.
