Tuesday nights - Maher Oval, Fernleigh Road (behind Riverina Australian Rules Club) but at Crossroads Oval, Collingullie when Maher Oval is unavailable;

Thursday nights - Crossroads Oval, Collingullie.

All old, new players and Under 17's welcome.

CHARITY SHIELD

We had a trial game which was held on Saturday 21st March at Maher Oval where we played Ganmain - Grong Grong - Matong (Premiers of RFL). The game had a thrilling finish where we held the lead until Ganmain equaled our score at the end of the fourth quarter. Then both teams had to play an extra 10 minutes (5min each way) to determine the winner with us having our chances to equal the score in the last couple of minutes of play but Ganmain went to the other end and kicked the last goal in the dying seconds of the game to win by 12 points.

NEWS ON THE FOOTBALL CLUB MOVING FROM FARRER LEAGUE

I will let you know when I have the official email from the executive of the club.

My message is that we are staying where we are after Tuesday's nights (9/11/08) last appeal was dismissed by the tribunal.

But however the tribunal told Southern NSW AFL that if they haven't restructure football in the Riverina by May, this tribunal would recommend that favourable consideration to be given to us and TRYC (they tried to go to Hume League) to be cleared.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

The party was a great turn-up with about 100 people turning up to our new away pub for our first event there. Thanks to Mark Sykes, Terry and Joanne Fuller organising the food for the show with Mark and Terry cooking the B.B.Q. out in the cold and rain.

Mark told us next day (who turned up to watch the touch team "Collingullie Demons" win their grand final 10 to 4 with Brad Aiken winning man of match) that Col Lyons (Manager of Turvey Tavern - former player from the 60's) was very happy with the turnout and for people leaving in a orderly fashion.

Also we wish Peter Dowdle all best in his recovery from a triple by-pass operation which was a month ago.

NOTE: BEST VIEWED ON INTERNET EXPLORER, OPERA, APPLE SAFARI AND MOZILLA FIREFOX BROWSERS.
