Welcome to the results of Vote Count and presentation night held on Friday 19th September at Wagga Commercial Club. There was a big crowd on hand to watch the presentation of the 2008 awards and the awards went to the following players in their grades were:

CLUB AWARDS

Life Membership – Paul Gillett (300 games) and Ray Gow (for being on the committee for twenty years).

Waring Family Endeavour Award to non-contracted players (trip to AFL grand final) – Chris Gow (third year in a row) and Adam McKenzie

Best Non-playing Clubman (John Meyers Perpetual) – Steve and Lorraine Shipway – Steve looked after the ground and done the scoreboard at most home games; Lorraine washed and fixed the jumpers each week and added emblems when they were required to the jumpers.

SPECIAL AWARDS

Balls for keeping – Both Shane Lenon and Brendan Barrett received the premiership balls; Brad Aiken for his 500th goal;

Golden Boot – Clint Renner for kicking 129 goals for the season

Note: all of these trophies were made by Tony “Wally” Wild who is the father  of Jason and Jamie

FIRST GRADE

Best and Fairest – Brad Aiken – 168 votes

Runner-up – Ned Mortimer – 131

Coaches Award – Kallan Sykes

Most Improved (Collingullie P & C Perpetual) – Shane Gow

Most Consistant (Jack Somerville Memorial Perpetual) – Chad Hamblin

Highest Vote Count in League (Jarrod Morrow Memorial Perpetual) – Brad Aiken

Rookie of the Year (George Wilson Perpetual) – Ned Mortimer

Most Courageous (Barrie McPherson Memorial Perpetual) – Doug Bruckner

Crossroads Hotel Mug Award – Marc Geppert

Best in Finals – Chris Gow

SECOND GRADE

Best and Fairest (Merv Meyers Memorial Perpetual) – Clint Renner – 93 votes

Runner-up (Butch Menz Memorial Perpetual)  - James Burgess – 84

Most Consistent (Gus Menz Memorial Perpetual) – Ben Guiton

Coaches Award – Luke Powell

Ex – Junior Rising Star (D’arcy Menz Memorial Perpetual) – Brad Kapp

Most Aggregate Votes – Josh Meiselbach

Crossroads Hotel Mug Award – Clint Renner

Best in Finals – Nathan Dowdle

NETBALL

A GRADE

Best and Fairest – Michelle Forrell (votes total unknown due to Rd 1 missing)

Runner-up – Gabby Colvin (third time this year after being runner-up in Wagga Netball association – vote count and Grand Final)

Players Player – Tash Lenon

Crossroads Hotel Mug Award – Tash again

Flowers were presented to Tracey Colvin (coach of team – wife of Gary Colvin (1987 coach) and mother of Gabby) and Tash (captain of team)

B GRADE

Best and Fairest – Maddison Absolum (votes total unknown due to Rd 1 missing)

Runner-up – Jill Powell

Players Player – Jess Lewington

Crossroads Hotel Mug Award – Corrine Bax

JUNIORS

They had their presentation earlier due to unknown venue when the season finished and Maddison Mullavey won the B+F and Amy Fowler won the runner up, also the Players Player award. Ebony Jenkins won the coaches award.
