BIO

My faith journey has been chequered. Brought up a third-generation Pentecostal with some unorthodox family leanings, I left the Assemblies of God at 28 and joined the (now) Christian Reformed Church. (I had had contact with the Christian Reformed movement in Australia and overseas and had absorbed its desire for an all-of-life worldview under the Lordship of Christ.)

The teaching and the mentoring in particular I received had both a positive and a negative effect on me. Positively it gave me good reasons to fulfil yearnings I had had to study and achieve  academically. However, negatively, it warped my walk with God in that the message as I understood from some of my mentor(s) was that the Bible and therefore Bible study as such were not very important.

What they were pointing to was that merely intellectual study of the holy Scriptures was not enough. Each person needs to be grasped at the centre of his/her being by the power of the Word of God before study of Word of God can be undertaken authentically. This divine power is not reducible to an intellectual proposition or correct doctrine but needs to inform our intellectual and devotional pursuits of the Scriptures.

Presently, I am now found in an Anglican Church that wishes to benefit from my leading in learning more about the holy Scriptures. Therefore, in this site I have placed my presentations chiefly for the Sunday after-church group that seeks to learn more of the Scriptures that play such a large role in the liturgy of the Anglican Church.
