Chapter 24 – Love is in the Air

Haunter briefly wondered if he should’ve killed that sleeping stoner when he had the chance.

As he was walking into Mt. Moon, he passed Bert and his Vileplume, both sleeping peacefully next to a small building that was right near the Mt. Moon entrance. Haunter’s first instinct was to kill Bert, but Haunter gave it a little more thought and figured that Bert was practically harmless. After all, he was just an idiot stoner. What harm could he have done?

“Hell, it would’ve been fun, though,” Haunter said as he walked through Cerulean City with Houndoom.

Haunter was surprised at how easy it was to get through Mt. Moon. It only took them about 2 hours to navigate the entire mountain, and they only took one wrong turn. As soon as he stepped out of the mountain and smelled the fresh, clean air of Cerulean, he wondered how much longer it’d be before he came across one of those who he was searching for.

Haunter remembered the pained scream of Salt when he shoved the chainsaw into his back and smiled. It felt so incredibly good to hear the wet splatter of organs as the chainsaw ripped through Salt’s insides. Haunter thought about the right way to dispose of Radiant, his mind racing with delicious possibilities.

Maybe he won’t just kill her. He thought of knocking her out and torturing her more than once, and each time it made him smile. To see her tied down to a bed, wriggling and screaming and begging for help… her delicious, gorgeous body glistening with sweat. Maybe he’d rape her first. After all, he didn’t get to last time because of his foot. Maybe he would this time.

Maybe he’d let Houndoom eat her. After all, it would be a little poetic. Her Charmeleon ate him during CEPBR1, and Haunter felt it would be right for Houndoom to snack on her jugular. He imagined the frantic cries she’d have once Houndoom ripped off her arm and he smiled.

He poked his head into different buildings inside Cerulean, his mind wandering to what would happen after he won and was the only survivor. Sure, he’d lose control over his body for a while as BethanyM built herself a new one, but he was also granted protection from whatever she would decide to do to the human race. She could nuke the entire world, but he would be safe. Fine by him.

At this point, there wasn’t any doubt in his mind that he wouldn’t win. After all, how many of the contestants would’ve approached BethanyM with the offer he did? He was far too important to BethanyM for him to die, and he was confident that if he were ever in the situation where that might happen, BethanyM would swoop down and save him. She couldn’t let him die, not now.

“I bet I could that ***** to eat her own virtual crap and she’d do it,” Haunter said as he opened another door and peeked inside. “I own that *****.”

Houndoom nodded and grinned. It was feeling much, much better than it was before. It wasn’t having any difficulty walking, and it had adjusted to having one eye surprisingly quick. It looked forward to killing the next contestant it came across, and it enjoyed the idea that whoever it sees next may be the person its master wants dead.

Houndoom suddenly froze. It titled its nose to the sky and began sniffing. Haunter turned around and moved the chainsaw to another hand and stared at it.

“Do you smell something?” Haunter asked.

Houndoom nodded. It turned towards the southern part of town and growled. Haunter stepped over and crouched next to it.

“What is it, boy?”

Haunter heard footsteps rapidly approaching. Wait, they were too quick to be footsteps. It was a four-legged animal that was making that noise. Haunter spun around and ran behind the nearest building, waving at Houndoom to follow him. Houndoom quickly ran to Haunter as the footsteps grew louder and louder.

Haunter grabbed the starter cord of the chainsaw just as he heard a soft crying amidst the footsteps. It was a female’s voice, Haunter could tell that. He also knew the ratio of males to females at GameFAQs and smiled at the thought, hoping that the odds were in his favor.

The footsteps were loud now, incredibly loud. Whoever it was were going to move past the building he was hiding behind any second now. He waited, crouched down low, and prepared to make his move.

Suddenly, he pulled the starter cord and the chainsaw roared. He leapt forward, swinging the chainsaw wildly, hoping to hit the red and white blur that was coming towards him. Before he knew it, he felt something crash into his stomach and he was sent flying backwards.

He groaned, touching his stomach and feeling the thin strip of blood. No serious wounds, thankfully. He stood up, quickly realizing that a rib was broken. He swore loudly when he turned around to see that Houndoom was gone, along with whatever rammed into him.

He suddenly heard barking and heard the crackle of fire. He heard neighing and yelling, and when he heard the voice screaming he knew it was Radiant. He ran over to pick up the chainsaw and spun around, looking around him to see where they might’ve gone.

The red and white blur of Radiant and her Pokemon rounded the corner, and Haunter briefly saw the large horn on top of Rapidash’s head and leapt out of the way. He jumped back, just barely avoiding the horn. He felt a wave of heat wash over him as the adrenaline coursed through his system. He looked back to his left and saw Houndoom dash out after Rapidash just as it rounded the corner.

“Jesus Christ, that ***** is fast,” Haunter muttered.

Houndoom began barking and it ran forward to Haunter and bit his pant leg, pulling him forward. Haunter frowned as he heard the neighing and galloping become louder and come closer.

“All right, I can take a hint!” Haunter yelled as Houndoom let go of his pant leg.

Haunter ran after Houndoom, who seemed to be chasing after Radiant and Rapidash. Haunter heard the galloping coming from all around him, and when he felt the small fireball come from behind him and slam into his back he screamed in pain. He spun around and heard Radiant laughing, but didn’t see her at all.

Houndoom was barking loudly at something around the corner, and Haunter stuck his head out just in time to see that Radiant and her Rapidash were heading their way. Without any warning at all, Houndoom lunged forward, running like mad towards Rapidash with its horns lowered and aiming at its legs.

Haunter quickly peeked out from around the corner and then started up the chainsaw. He peeked out again and saw the game of chicken between the two Pokemon was going to come to an end rather soon.

Radiant slapped Rapidash on the neck, and Rapidash knew what to do. Houndoom was a fire Pokemon, and thereby able to stand up to and resist most fire attacks. Rapidash also couldn’t lower its head enough to head butt Houndoom, since it was much taller. Veering off to another direction was far too risky, though. So, it did the only thing it could do.

Rapidash leapt forward in the air above Houndoom, sailing over it by nearly 3 feet. Radiant couldn’t help but feel a little awed by the sensation of flying through the air, and sort of half expected for Rapidash to suddenly sprout wings and fly her away from Haunter and his delusions of revenge.

She saw Haunter leap out from around the corner and run underneath them, the chainsaw held high above him with the blade pointing up at the sky. Rapidash neighed loudly as Haunter swung the chainsaw into its chest just as it landed, causing blood to splatter about erratically. Rapidash immediately fell to the ground on top of Haunter, tossing Radiant from its back and sending the chainsaw sliding away from both of the contestants.

Haunter grunted and groaned, more sure than ever that he had broken a rib. Rapidash wriggled and thrashed above him, still bleeding from its chest and now trying to impale Haunter on the horn on its head. He quickly punched Rapidash in the eye and struggled to get out from underneath it as Radiant scrambled to her feet and ran for the chainsaw.

Houndoom was quickly on her, though. It tackled her to the ground and tore into her arm, violently shaking his head back and forth, ripping flesh and muscle from bone. She screamed loudly, and Haunter jammed his thumb into Rapidash’s eye in an attempt to get out from underneath it.

Radiant slammed her fist into Houndoom’s only eye, sending it falling to the side. She spun around and began crawling towards the chainsaw, her arm gushing blood from its wound. She screamed when she felt Houndoom clamp its jaws into her calf and rip off more of her flesh.

Haunter pushed and pulled as Rapidash began to thrash less and less. He swore loudly as the horn on Rapidash’s head sliced into his shoulder. He pushed and pulled frantically as Houndoom tore into Radiant’s leg. When he finally got out from under the dead Pokemon, he ran for the chainsaw and picked it up. He approached Radiant and Houndoom instantly let go of Radiant’s leg. She rolled over and instantly sat up and began scooting back against the wall of the building, sobbing and crying softly at the sight of Haunter with the chainsaw.

“Please, God, no, I didn’t even get to see him, I didn’t even get to see Aeon,” Radiant stammered, tears streaming down her face.

Haunter paused, and then smiled. “That’s so sad. It really is. Maybe I’ll let you live, though…”

Radiant saw the way Haunter’s eyes were traveling over her body and she shook her head. “You stick my ****ing head in the oven and expect me to have sex with you?”

“It doesn’t have to be consensual.”

“I’d rather take the chainsaw.”

“Oh, come on, be honest now,” Haunter said. “You’d rather die than have sex with me?”

Radiant spat at Haunter, and then she smiled. “I’d rather use that chainsaw for a vibrator than allow myself to be raped by you.”

Haunter grinned. “Whatever you say.”

Haunter lunged forward and shoved the blade of the chainsaw directly into Radiant’s crotch. Radiant screamed as blood splattered onto her face. Haunter ripped the chainsaw out of the gaping wound in her crotch and shoved it into her stomach. She screamed, and Haunter heard her scream her last words, which almost sounded completely indistinguishable.

“Tell Aeon I love him!”

Haunter roared and ripped the chainsaw out of her stomach. He slammed the blade into the side of her neck, enraged at her dying words. He quickly moved the chainsaw throughout her entire neck, laughing as her head fell off of her body and hit the ground. He let the chainsaw slowly die off, still laughing and giggling madly at the sight of the dead body in front of him.

He hoped Aeon was still alive. He wanted to tell him detail-by-detail about the murder of his little love puppy. He wanted to see Aeon cringe when he heard that a chainsaw was shoved into her crotch. He suddenly thought of something.

“What if he doesn’t believe me?”

Haunter eyed the head of the decapitated Radiant, and knew that it wouldn’t be a problem.
