Breath of Fire III Official Guide Book - Formation

Form the essential party or a party less-travelled.

Before heading into battle, it is very important set up a formation that covers the characters' weak points. Examine the following specific characteristics.

Effects of the Formation

The chances of a character receiving attacks is not the only component that will change due to the formation. There may also be alterations to a character's parameters (e.g. attack power). Depending on the formation, the type of adjustments will differ and the numerical values may increase or decrease. You have the ability to generate much power by considering such aspects as your formation and the party member lineup.
