Title: Drought
Medium: Graphite Pencil
Size: 85 cm x 100cm unframed - 120cm x 160cm framed
Status: For Sale/POA
History: I always carry a pencil and sketch book with me,
so this summer when my car blew a tyre I kept myself occupied drawing
this beautiful old dying River Red Gum while waiting for the service van to
arrive. The past seven years in Australia has been the worst
drought in over 100 years, and many trees are suffering. I wanted to record
this old beauty before she passed on. This is the largest work I
have done to date, you see it here clipped to some foam core board prior to
framing.
'Drought' was a selected entrant in this years Lexus Mortimer prize in Dubbo,
NSW and has spent the summer touring around New South Wales
