History: Have you ever seen the Daffy Duck cartoon where he gets all his feathers blasted off and says 'Luckily I keep all my feathers numbered for just such an occassion'? Well, after finding a mass of these beautiful male display feathers on the ground I just couldn't get that cartoon out of my mind, hence the title. :-)
