History: One of the wonderful birds I saw on beautiful Fraser
Island while staying as Artist in Residence at the fantastic
Kingfisher Bay Resort. I chased
after this fellow for the entire week trying to sketch and photograph him
- he must have had
a real aversion to artists because he would flit off before I had any chance
of a good view - until my final day when he obliged and
sat and 'posed' for me for a good 15 minutes. This work was sketched in the
field and then recreated in watercolor in the studio.
