Stage 2 - Complete
Lighting controller; for local control of all lights in a zone, a zone for my purposes will be one level on the house, I will use a GameBoy as the prototype local control panel. I2c will be utilised to keep complexity down. I gave up on the gameboy as the display contrast was not good enough. I opted to go upmarket and use a modern microcontroller namely the ATMEL. I purchased an STK 500 from Dontronics, got prompt service and a working product. I used the ATMEL studio development environment and got a prototype up in 24 hours. For the hardware I have ordered the AT Mega board from FUTURLEC, I have been getting bits there on and off for a while. There stuff is cheap and good quality, the documentation is crap. I will post a more detailed hardware description later. |
