Wings over Illawarra Air Show - Registration and free entry
For those interested in attending the Wings over Illawarra Air Show on 2nd and/or 3rd of May free entry is available for Classic Mini owners and their Cars for the Classic Car Display that is put on each year within the Airport grounds.
If you are a Classic Mini owner and wish to register a spot with Minis in the Gong simply fill out the online "register your vehicle" form at and use the drop down menu to choose "Minis in the Gong". You can register for one or both days.
IMPORTANT: Registration will include entry for the Classic Car and Driver ONLY. Any additional passengers will require separate entry tickets on the day. These can be purchased online at . If the additional passengers do not have tickets they will need to buy tickets and enter via the public gates on foot.
In past years Minis in the Gong have joined in with NSW Mini Car Club members and met beforehand and entered as a group. If you are a NSWMCC Member then we also invite you to register under Minis in the Gong as our guests.
MCCNSW members will also note that Enthusiasts Group Chairman Rob Weir has placed the details of a run down from Sydney on Sunday 3rd of May in the latest copy of the MCC newsletter. Their plan is to Convoy down from McDonalds, Heathcote, leaving at 7:15am, with a pickup near the end of the Wollongong freeway at Hungry Jacks, Haywards Bay, to meet with Minis in the Gong and any other Classic Minis and then leaving there at 8:15am sharp, to arrive at the Air Show by 8:30am, and in place by their 8:45am deadline.
If there is enough interest from local Minis in the Gong members we may organise a separate run from our usual meeting point at Keys Batteries down to the Haywards Bay meeting point.
If you wish to simply make you own way to the Air Show please note the details on the links page above as entry and exit for Classic Cars on display will only be within certain times.
Please if you are interested in attending don't leave it too late to Register or you may miss out. The Air show is very popular and while the Classic Car Display is in a better location this year than previous years but with reduced spaces, so once the area is full they will close registration.
