Minis in the Gong has been invited to attend a special Event in Canberra to celebrate 60 years of the Mini.

The event is on Sunday the 25th of August 2019.

Minis in the Gong may be able to organise a trip down to Canberra as a group for this event. If you are interested please post a reply or send a message.

Also please indicate if you have a preference to whether you prefer to head down on the Saturday afternoon and stay the night in canberra, or just leave Wollongong early on the Sunday. The event starts at 10am.

Details below....

From ACT Mini Car Club...

As the mini was first launched to the public on the 26th August 1959, our event is to celebrate 60 years of Mini.
The ACTMCC will cater for the event with also a celebration cake in the shape of a Mini , created by one of our members.

The event will start by meeting at Old Parliament House and then drive on to:
Red Hill Lookout
Cotter Bend via Parkes Way and Coppins Crossing
BBQ lunch at Cotter Bend
Gowrie - (Peter and Suzy's place for coffee)
Without taking into stop ie for lunch etc, the drive time is 2 hours and the distance is 95 kms.

We are hoping to have local media attending at Old Parliament House and give them an opportunity to take photos.

Lunch is at Cotter Bend, After lunch, approx. 3pm, we will head out along Paddys River Road towards Tharwa. The Tidbinbilla Space Complex may be welcomed stop if time permits and if there is enough interest, as will Tharwa. From Tharwa, we will head to Gowrie (Peter and Suzy's place) for Tea and Coffee and Pizza for dinner. The travel time for this leg is about 1 hour without stops.

We have created a Registration Page on our website to assist with catering.
