The 00 "Nundle" Gathering & Run to the Karuah Rallye

On Friday night 11 list members met up at the 'Peel Inn' hotel in Nundle.  In addition there were a bunch of Ulysses road tourers and also the infamous 'Canning Men' (aka TGB).  Next morning we took the tar to 'Hanging Rock' then the track out to Barrie then on to Elleston.  Yes the one with 21 creek crossings!  In actuality an easy ride on good country 3rd grade roads.   Accident NILs!  Breakdowns 2 with one carb diapraghm tearing (BMW) and one flat tyre (Honda).

Great mixture of BM, Honda (Varradero & Afrika Twin) and a flash new Triumph Tiger.  Later in the morning we met again with the TGB group who had a get off on the last creek crossing before Elleston and who were repairing a clutch lever.

Great view from bluff between Barrie & Elesston - If you liked watching eagles then this was the place!
Regrouping at crossing 10 - Yes it really was that big Ron!

(For some reason I am bragging for the camera)

(this crossing being the only one with a concrete base & as well a slimed suface ).  They were repairing a clutch level assembly.  After a regroup at Kerry Packers Horse Stud we took the forest road over teh Barrington tops to Glouscester then down to Dungog for a few cold ales.  The rain came down at this point but the 30clicks back into the mountains to the rallye was a real blast.

Unforunately the rallye was a bit of a wash out (though a great time was had).  'Pissed down' all night.  Most rider sbandonning the site by 0730.   The 820Km ride home for this queenslander was wet and freezing dayride (I had rodden down in a heat wave!).  Still a great ride overall and a successful gathering of the list members!
