aust_map.gif (11692 bytes) The 99 "OZ Adventure Tibooburra Run"
Riders gathered out front of the Family Hotel in Tibooburra for the inuagral 99 OZ Adventure Ride! New in '99 & originally scheduled to occur at Milparinka on the Halloween Weekend (last w'end in October). The venue had to rapidly changed to Tibooburra as the pub at Milparinka had just sold it's licence! ("shame"). 
Over 20 riders attended and few more tried didn't get there for various reasons!   The event was a complete success with quite a few opting for a run to "Cameron's Corner' during their stay.  All vowed to return again to meet as OZ Adventurers in "00"!   Milparinka may be back on too (it's 60km south!) as the owners will have a cafe license soon (no takeway cans!). 

Then one can gaze from the top of Mt Poole and wonder as to the determination of explorers and forbearers and the miners that followed them to this remote and desolate place!

It is planned that the 2000 Gathering will also be held at Tibooburra with a side trip to Milparinka on Halloween! The last weekend in October
