Yahoo Config

This article is for those people who have a Yahoo Groups account, but would like to configure things so that they get the group emails forwarded to their normal email account.

If you already receive Yahoo Group emails direct to your normal email account, please disregard this article.

The main benefits:

  • Get new postings as soon as they are posted.
  • Replies to Yahoo Group messages automatically get posted back to the group.
  • No need to ever login to Yahoo Groups again to get updates on what's happening.

To set it up, first login to your Yahoo Group Account at Yahoo Group Login.  You should now see a screen like:

After clicking as shown you will then see.  Continue to follow the steps:
When choosing the email address, choose your normal home email address, NOT one that ends with yahoo.com.au.
If your normal home email is not listed, you may need to click on the "Add New Email" link to add it.
You may also need to edit the Subscription section shown in the above picture, so that "Message Delivery" is "Individual Email" (or possibly "Daily Digest").  The other 2 options ("Special Notices" and "No Emails") will not be very useful if you wish to receive the emails since only one option can be chosen.

Our Field

The Club has use of a fantastic field at Normanby Wines 178 Dunns Avenue near Harrisville (please note, only soaring type models, including electric and glider tugs are permitted at the thermal field). Access is via the gate before the winery driveway. The gate must always be closed.

Note: Our general Club Flying day is the first Sunday after each month's club meeting. Club members do use the field at other times.

Harrisville Field Aerial

Our Club flew regularly at it's Redbank Plains field which is West of Brisbane in South East Queensland and was founded in 1977. It was known as the Brisbane Model Soaring Club however the site has been used for R/C flying since the 60's. After lengthy negotiations with the Ipswich City Council, the club secured the use of the field on a permanent basis and the name of the Club was changed to Moreton Region Sports Soaring Association to reflect the commitment of the region's council. In recent years the Club handed back use of this field due to an increase in general public access from other sporting groups. It is now used by Redbank Summerholm Silent Flyers. However we have kept the name as most of our members reside within the Moreton Bay catchment area. We have now moved most flying to a field at Harrisville.
