I've watched a lot of launches over the years here, around Oz and overseas and obviously done a few as well. For a period of almost 2 years I worked very hard to improve them and used data loggers to quantify improvements. I've now come to a point where I'm comfortable with most of them, no matter what winch/line/thrower/conditions. I compromise a little bit and could do better but consistency makes up for that in the longer term. You won’t become a world champion following what I’ve written, but it might save you some time learning to become one if you are starting out. This was written when local competitions used 200m instead of 150m but the ideas are still valid.
