Serendipity Designs

Welcome

TO MY RED ROSE DESIGN PORTFOLIO
LESSON ONE - A SIMPLE PAGE

The criteria for this page was to use an image and choose two suitable colours for a swatch. From that we were to make a patterned, plain and gradient tile and use them as the basis of the webset.

For my image I chose a photo of some flowers picked from my garden at 'Serendipity'. I completely removed the background and placed the image on the pink swatch layer. After merging I gave this a painted effect and a canvas texture. During the process the background became a pale pink.

SWATCH COLOURS

For the first tile I used a mixture of light and dark pink splashes to which I applied a glass mosaic and embossing. The second tile was made from the basic pink swatch. I applied the same painted effect and canvas texture so it would match the background of the rose image. The third tile is the two swatch colours combined to make a gradient. To this I added a denim texture.

I made the enter button by applying Mura's Copies filter to the flowers.
The gradient was used as the text fill and a glass effect applied.

This Portfolio Final was coded to be viewed in IE. In Firefox and perhaps some other browsers you will not be able to view my custom cursors, colour coded scrollbars, page entry transitions, the navigation menu side bar and some Java Scripts may also not work. If you wish to view how I intended these pages to appear please use IE, preferably an up to date version.
