Khira

Websets

LESSON TWO

This lesson was to design a webset with co-ordinating elements consisting of-
  • An Image
  • Pattern Tile
  • Gradient Tile
  • Plain Tile
  • Divider
  • Link Buttons
and using the supplied html code.

Divider

I chose a photo of Khira, my niece, for the main image. If you would like to see the Digital Layouts I have done on Khira you will find them at my main site, Serendipity Designs.

TILES

To make the patterned background I applied various filters to a section of the photo to turn it into splotchy colours. I then applied brush effects, a texture and layer modes to give me a dark and light tile.

The gradient was made with a green and yellow selected from Khira's hat. After adding noise I applied a texture to give a raised tile effect. I saved it in two different sizes.

The plain tile is a complimentary colour to which a light texture was applied.

DIVIDER

The base of the divider was a dingbat filled with the background tile and bevelled. I selected and edited a copy of the sunflower on the hat and applied to the centre.

LINKS

The links were made from the font PC Knobbish using the same process as the divider.
