A love for the Australian bush and bush poets, particularly Henry Kendall's poem, Bell-Birds was the inspiration to create a layout that portrayed the Aussie Bush in N Scale. In the planning stage we were able to draw on the experiences of many holidays in the Blue Mountains bush walking. Also living in the Southern Highlands of NSW gave us a 'feel' for the project. The layout consists of single mainline working with a passing loop, an elevated "Logging Line" and further up the mountain a "Bush Tramway". The town of 'Bellbird' is the meeting place for the bush community. Although on the main Southern line very few trains stop at Bellbird except for the Timber Trains, the occasional Freight with local provisions and the daily Rail Motor service to the 'Big Smoke'. We invite you to explore our little part of the Aussie Bush. Imagine yourself by the cool streams listening for the call of the birds and native fauna, ride the rails on the Bush Tramway, then trek back down to the town of Bellbird for a relaxing night at the Local Pub.
The layout is available for future exhibitions so we would welcome your enquiries by email.
