Our latest layout is an 'N Scale' layout depicting a location somewhere on the NSW Main South. Facilities include Wheat handling, service to a Timber Mill, Stock Yards and a small Loco servicing yard. Colcairn is a busy rural town with lots of freight movements and the occasional passenger service passing through. The layout can by operated manually but can also be switched over to run on an automated system. (See Automatic Train Control on the Modeling Tips Page) The Back Scene consists of panoramic photographs taken of the mountains and farming area in the Kargaroo Valley NSW. The township was obtained from photographs found on the internet of the actual town of Culcairn. All the buildings are scratchbuilt. The Silo was constructed from PVC drainage pipe, Styrene and scribed alfoil. All the Rockwork is constructed by the ‘Soft Rock’ method (To see my method of making ‘Soft Rock’ click on the link to go to the Modelling Tips page. Trees are of the Wire Armature type covered with Selleys No More Gaps and Woodland Scenics Foliage.
The layout is available for future exhibitions. To contact us please send an email to the address below.
