­ All our breeding stock are of sound character, and can be handled off lead by all family members of prospective puppy buyers.

 

­ Have been awarded the German Shepherd Dog National Council of Australia, Silver Medallion, for hip dysplasia control.

 

è All our breeding stock have been x-rayed and passed for hips (‘A’ stamp) and elbows (‘Z’ stamp).

 

­ Holders of 25 individual Australian German Shepherd National Council Awards of Merit.

   (These Awards of Merit are awarded to the breeders of those dogs graded Excellent in the Show and/or Obedience competition rings - we believe that this is the highest number achieved in Tasmania)

 

­ Compete successfully in both show and obedience competition rings -

è    Have performed successfully under National and International Judges.                             

è Have bred the highest number of Breed Survey Class 1 bitches in Tasmania.

è Dogs owned or bred by us have gained 45 obedience titles and 50 Best in Trial awards.

è Have bred the first Tasmanian resident bitch to become Australian Obedience Champion – Schafheide Endless Love AOC.

 

­ Since the inception of the Tasmanian State Breed Assessment in 1997, where the judge assesses the dog on conformation, character, gaiting performance and, with the aid of their pedigrees, their breed value,

Schafheide has been the most successful kennel in Tasmania, with an unmatched performance record.

 

­ We have won the Tasmanian State Siegerin title five times with three different bitches –

(The Siegerin title is awarded to the best bitch at the annual Tasmanian State Breed Assessment)
