I was prescribed sertraline today and am on tramadol.I read in the leaflet that i need to contact a gp or pharmacist before taking any but everywhere is closed now. I haven’t taken any tramadol for a couple of days and it’s important i take the sertraline so is it safe to do this and just not take the tramadol or should i wait until i speak to a gp in the morning?

I have a history of gastro problems so my tummy is quite sensitive to even OTC pain meds and lately I have been convinced that Ibuprofen is the devil. Thing is, it’s the only thing that’s effective for my menstrual cramps. I always take Ibu with an antacid as it helps to coat the tummy but it never fails that my stomach problems are worse after my period from the meds. My doc prescribed tramadol for that time and said it’s even safe to take with Ibuprofen if necessary but it causes me to get very dried out, feel sleepy and makes my sinuses worse/gives me a headache sometimes…ah the great balance of taking medicine…trading one symptom for another…:(

It’s a diet of lots of aloe vera juice for me in the next few weeks!
