I live with my husband, Ray, in Sandstone Point, Queensland, Australia - a delightful area close to the waters of Moreton Bay with an idyllic climate.

 

I grew up in a hotbed of creativity. My father and mother were very skilled with their hands. My mother was always doing some kind of handwork - knitting or sewing and particularly crochet of which she did exquisite work. My father was an expert leather worker and very good with wood, building me wonderful things when I was young. Growing up in that sort of atmosphere, naturally I wanted to make something too. I learned knitting just about as soon as I could hold the needles and my mother patiently picked up all the dropped stitches until I got the hang of it. I soon learned other skills from my mother - sewing, embroidery, tatting and crochet.

 

I have tried many different crafts over the years but I tend to always come back to my first love - having a needle and thread in my hand. That's why you will see some handstitching in just about all of my designs!

 

I feel so blessed to have good health, reasonable eyesight, an understanding and encouraging husband and TIME to be creative.
