Update

23/12/2007

The 40m page is QSY'ing to 30m, 10132kHz for a couple of weeks. I have a trip to the Outback planned and will be attempting to send as many images back on 30m as possible. Let's see where I end up!

This is a 3100km return trip. For overseas readers, from Sydney to King Sound by road, is 5400km, one way. From Sydney to Perth - 4100km, and from Melbourne to the tip of Cape York is over 3600km. AUSTRALIA IS A BIG PLACE!

A new and very basic PDA page is now being beta tested at www.vk2qq.com/m
I will add more features as I get the time. At present it only links to the latest 20m and 40m images.

Since changing the modem here to an 8MBPS connection the service has been very unreliable. Several times a week the modem crashes and loses the WAN IP. I took the family on an extende vacation to the USA and UK and of course, the modem crashed within the first few days. I have just returned from a 2 week trip to Tasmania and the same thing happened as soon as we departed.

The modem will now reset each evening in case of a crash and hopefully that will fix the problem. I apologise for the problems this may have caused.

Coming soon - WAP or Mobile version of the webcams pages!

11 March 2007

Last week Ari VK4ARI resumed operation with a repeater requiring 1750Hz tone on 30 metres 10134kHz.

At the same time John VK4ET moved his repeater from 10m to 40m. It is now running on 7171kHz with 1750Hz tone betwen the hours of approximately 2200 - 0600UTC.

The VK2QQ webcam is now monitoring 7171kHz during those hours as well as 14230kHz overnight.

18 January 2007

Due to lack of use, Kate has closed the 40m repeater and is now frequency agile, following the action with her webcam.

3 January 2007

Kate VK4XYL has commenced operating a 40m repeater on 7055kHz to replace the previous repeater belonging to Rob VK4MOD.

Ari VK4ARI is no longer operating a 20m repeater, but his webcam shall continue to be monitoring 14230 and 14236kHz.

Added new page linked to Kate VK4XYL. Added G3YJQ and JH1HFE to the World Webcams page. Removed Rob VK4MOD unlinkable links from the World Webcams page.

Wishing you all the very best Season's Greetings and a Happy New 2007. I'm certainly hoping that 2007 will be a better year for my family after this disastrous 2006.

VK4ET has moved his repeater to 10m and is now operating on 28690kHz with 1750Hz access tone.

The following is from an email by Trevor VK4ZU "He now is operating an experimental SSTV repeater on 28.690 MHz USB from his QTH in Brackenridge Brisbane. He is currently using a 3 element tri band beam directed SW. The antenna is 70 FT in height which will be replaced with a 1/2 wave coaxially center fed vertical dipole at about 80 FT. This antenna should be operational in the near future. Power output is 70 watts.
Operating times are expected to be 2300 to about 0800 UTC although there may be down times during this period."

As a result I will also be monitoring 10m and 20m from now until Winter. 30m is not active, and 40m is too noisy. The receivers shall also be tuned to other active frequencies as time permits, notably 2m on Thursday nights and 15m if DX is active.

Updated 20m and 40m pages.

Modified ISS/30m page for 20m/30m. This page now monitoring 14227 from Victoria (VK3) on weekends, 14230 overnight and 10134kHz weekdays.

Updated VK4MOD's links on the World Webcams page. He has a new website now.

VK4ET is currently beaconing and testing on 10134kHz during QLD daytime hours 2200-0800z. The images received here will be displayed in the ISS/30m page.

Added new CAM2 links for VK2QQ and VK4MOD on World Webcams page.

VK3, VK5, VK7 and VK8 are not represented. C'mon guys! How about a webcam from your area?

The VK8 SSTV Repeater is under test. I hope they add a website or webcam to it.

Welcome Peter VK6AAL! Peter has just announced that he has begun running an SSTV webcam from Perth, Western Australia.

Peter tells me that he will be monitoring (mostly) 14230 as well as 14236, 7055, 7033 and also 3630 at night.

This is a great opportunity to test the path across to VK6 from the East Coast and ZL.

Peter's web page can be found here and also there is a new linked thumbnail on the World Webcams page. Please visit him.
