Picasa Slide Show - How to
Once you begin to build a large school photo collection in your Internet site, it can become slow to publish and time consuming to keep updating.
One option that may help is to create an online photo album, for different faculties and interest groups in your school, and embed these albums in your site
1.Create a Google account, if you don’t already have one
2.Go to picasaweb.google.com and create a photo album.
3.If you change your Google account settings to “US” you will see a link to Embed Slideshow on the left of the page.
You can copy and paste the Embed Slideshow code from this link into a Web Widget in iWeb.
However, I feel the iFrame option below is a bit neater.
Give both a try to compare the two options.
4.In iWeb, use a Web Widget > HTML Snippet to add the following code to create an iFrame (iWeb ’08 only):
<iframe src="http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/somewhereps/OutbackTrip/photo#s5173596159069163346" height="450" width="620"></iframe>,
replacing
http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/somewhereps/OutbackTrip photo#s5173596159069163346
with the address of the first photo in your PicasaWeb slideshow.
To get this address, run your slideshow in PicasaWeb, and copy the address of the first photo in the show (as above), then paste into the iFrame code.
5.You can also vary the width and height parameters to suit your photo orientation and page width. (The frame on the previous example page is 620 wide, 450 high.
(Note: Some corporate networks may block access to Web 2.0 sites.)
