Fr Hugh Thomas will be at Holy Trinity from the weekend of February 25.
MISSION 2012 will begin on Monday March 5.
It will end with the 40 hours of Eucharistic devotion finishing on Sunday March 11 after the 9am Mass at Holy Trinity.
The theme of the retreat will encompass the Australian Bishops call for Year of Grace.
Fr. Hugh is a Redemptorist missionary who spent over 22 years in the Philippines.
During that time he had a roving mission going from village to village preaching, administering the sacraments and training lay leaders.
He has just completed 12 years in Western Australia, where he conducted many retreats and parish missions.
For the last 7 years he has spent a couple of months each year in Indonesia and Singapore giving retreats to priests and promoting adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
With Fr. Doug Harris, a diocesan priest of Perth, he has helped establish 30 chapels of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in different islands of Indonesia.
Fr. Hugh has recently been transferred by his congregation from Perth to Sydney.
He will speak at all the Masses leading up to the retreat and be visiting the school children at Holy Trinity Primary.
A time table of events will be uploaded once Fr Hugh arrives in the parish – so please visit this site again.
West Wagga Catholic Parish caters for all ages. Incorporated into the Church Grounds and very close to Trinity Center is Trinity Close. This is a complex of eight independent living units for retirees. The units consist of two or three bedrooms and have quality finishes throughout and internal access to the garage. Situated in a beautifully landscaped gated community setting, residents enjoy closeness to Holy Trinity Church and Parish Center. Each unit has a separate backyard with patio. The grounds are spacious and regularly maintained. Persons interested in a unit can call Richard Fitzpatrick on 6921 1555.

The last Australian Government committed $15 million over three years (2008-2011) for the provision of 2000 internet kiosks
to organizations that support seniors and want to host a Broadband for Seniors Kiosk and participate in this project.
The project aims to provide seniors with free access to Internet Broadband for seniors, help them gain confidence using computer technology, and to build community participation
and social inclusion amongst mature Australians. The West Wagga Parish team thought that this was a very worthwhile venture for parish members and residents at Trinity Close.
The Broadband for Seniors Kiosk benefits the parish and is an opportunity to compliment our facilities with new technology
to support our seniors providing them with free access to the Internet, computers and basic training.
This benefits the more mature members of the parish who might feel left out from the advantages of this new technology and the Internet.
The Kiosk enables parishioners with time in retirement to learn for free how to use a computer, access the Internet and communicate
with friends and family via email and even Skype (that is, video telephone calls).
The parish Broadband for Seniors Kiosk is gifted to the parish or hosting organization and becomes our property upon delivery;
but, it must be exclusively used for the BFS project until 30 Jun 2011. The Kiosk is situated in the front meeting room of Holy Trinity Church Centre
and is open to parishioners daily for their use and enjoyment when the church is open (that is from 6am until dusk). Lessons should to be booked in advance.
