ARTIS STATEMENT

Being a painter, I believe, is one of the most joyous professions in the world.   I started painting at a very early age, and enhanced my interests by studying art and attending many workshops.   I enjoy painting portraits, landscape, figurative and still life equally.  Nearly 90% of my landscape painting is inspired from my plein air painting trips.  My aim in painting is to transmit truthfully to others the emotional part of what inspired me at that moment.   When the light and shadow fall on a subject, it creates the mood of that subject, and how I interpret it and express it on the canvas is the most challenging and joyful part of my painting process.   In my journey as an artist, I find it easy to switch between different styles of painting; from realist/impressionistic painting to abstract approaches to express my inner feeling about the subject, also I find it easy to use different media.  However, oil colour is my favorite medium and transmitting to others my subject truthfully, I find very uplifting, challenging and satisfying.
